Rome will be crowded in 2025! It's the Catholic Church Jubilee, and the festivities have already begun and will continue until the end of the year. But with all the hoopla, crowds, etc, is it worth going? Should you reconsider visiting Rome and other parts of Italy this year?
No. There is much to do besides the main tourist attractions in Italy and Rome! Travel for the experience and not as a tourist...hire a private driver to avoid overcrowded public transportation and tours and explore independently. Take a trip to Tivoli to see the famous gardens or the bullet train from Rome to Pompeii. Visit Osteo Antica, a mini Pompeii just outside of Rome. Make a triangle between the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, and the Colosseum. (Stay out of that area between 10:30 am and 6:00 pm to avoid crowds.)
