Being a member of a critique group when you are a writer is essential. My group of eight have guided me now to publishing my fourth book. I could not do it without them. They encourage, correct, add, subtract – to my manuscripts making them better.
Do I always agree? No. But to have a person suggest a “better” word here and there or to subtract an unnecessary sentence…to have someone with a different eye to the story is always helpful.
