Romantic Evening in Rome, Italy

I’ve been consulting with a couple going to Italy for the first time. And here is my recommendation for a romantic evening in Rome.

The evening passagiata (or walk before dinner) is traditional. Take a stroll through the Piazza Navona and make your way to the Pantheon. Behind the Pantheon is a delightful Cafe’ called Sant’Eustachio. Their coffee is famous all over the world and the people watching is excellent. Sip an espresso on the sidewalk and enjoy the show. Stroll back to the Pantheon area and make your way to Ristorante da SABATINO a S. Ignazio. After 7:00 p.m. reservations are necessary, especially if you want to sit outside. And Quinto…he is the best waiter there. He’s entertaining and attentive. Just mention my name, Gianetta (the lady who lost her purse from the Minerva). Long story. I’ll blog about it sometime. 🙂 The antipasti is superb. Telephone number is: 06-67.97.821 Address is: Piazza S. Ignazio, 169

After dinner, stroll to Trevi Fountain to see it at night. For your dessert, my recommendation is walking back to the Piazza Navona and having a gelato at Tartufi. Then browse the vendors and buy a special piece of art work.

To cap off the evening, head back to the Pantheon area to the Grand Hotel De La Minerve, next to the Pantheon. Go to the rooftop bar and salivate over the view – Ancient Rome illuminated at night….and delight in the Italian singer…while sipping on an espresso or limoncello.

This evening should commence around 6 and end at 1 a.m. Relax, piano piano…you’re in Italy. No hurry here. Relish each moment.
